Do you feel pain or swelling in your lower legs? Do you notice changes in skin color or the presence of varicose veins?
Such symptoms could be indicative of a vascular condition, either venous or arterial, in your legs. We proudly provide a comprehensive vascular health assessment of your legs through Doppler ultrasound, evaluating both your veins and any arterial damage to your lower limbs.

Why Should I Care About my Leg's Vascular Health?
Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) are both common vascular diseases that prevent healthy blood flow. Both conditions can lead to chronic pain, limited mobility, and increased risk of ulcers or infections. Left untreated, they can severely hamper your daily activities and overall enjoyment of life.
Doppler vascular health of the lower limbs
Why should I have both my lower legs arteries and veins checked at the same time?
At early stage:
- Around 50% of people are asymptomatic*.
- Both PAD & CVI can show similar symptoms:
- Pain or discomfort in the legs.
- Swelling in the ankles or legs.
- Skin color changes in affected areas.
- 20 % of people with known or suspected PAD also present CVI**.
However, medical management and treatment of PAD&CVI is very different, so it is paramount to differentiate them.

How Does Ultrasound Assist?
Doppler ultrasound allows us to visualize blood circulation, detecting anomalies such as narrowed arteries, obstructions or defective venous valves.
Discover our comprehensive Doppler service – vascular health for your lower limbs. Both the veins and arteries of your legs assessed during the same appointment!
A Doppler ultrasound is a specialized examination requiring a medical prescription. Thinking about it? Consult your doctor: he or she can prescribe this examination if it's relevant to you.
Our service includes
- A complete evaluation of the deep and superficial venous network in one or both legs (for venous insufficiency, varicose veins, thrombus/blood clots if suspected).
- A tibio-brachial index under ultrasound (to look for signs of PAD)
- Check for popliteal cyst (if pain behind the knee)
